Popeye’s Cheesy Spinach Dip

Ingredients

1 can (13.5 oz.) Popeye® Chopped Spinach
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, cut into chunks, softened to room temperature
1 cup (8 oz.) sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. each onion powder and garlic powder
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 450°F. Rinse and drain spinach well in a colander, squeezing out extra liquid.
  2. Melt cream cheese in a 3-qt. saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic powders and 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese; stir until smooth. Gently stir in spinach.
  3. Spread in shallow 1 ½-qt. casserole; sprinkle with remaining Cheddar cheese. Bake 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let cool 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Serve with carrot and celery sticks, baguette slices, crackers, pita chips or tortilla chips.

VARIATION: Prepare recipe as directed, except:

  • Spicy Spinach Dip - Add hot sauce to taste, in Step 2. Or, use Pepper-Jack cheese instead of Cheddar.
